Dakota Spirit Ag Energy challenged by floodwaters to source local ethanol

November 12, 2019 |

In North Dakota, local press reports that Dakota Spirit Ag Energy has had a hard time sourcing local corn for the ethanol facility due to the wettest conditions seen for the crop in at least 10 years. The county where it is located had an emergency declared in October due to flooding while high water is found throughout the region, with some corn standing in knee-high water. The company typically sources corn from a 30-40 mile radius.
