In Brazil, Reuters reports that ECB plans to build an $800 million, 20,000 barrel per day HVO and SPK plant in Paraguay near the capital of Assuncion with an eye on value-added exports to the US, Canada and Europe. The company has hired Barclays and UBS to help it structure financing for what would be Latin America’s first HVO or SPK plant. Construction could start as soon as March 2020 and will use soybean oil as feedstock.
