Turkish biodiesel production up 18% on the year through August

In Turkey, the Daily Sabah newspaper reports that biodiesel production for the year through August rose 18% against the same period in 2018 at 78,000 metric tons compared to 66,000. The industry produced a total of 108,609 tons, primarily from waste oils but also from canola and safflower but is expected to pass 120,000 tons in 2019. Turkey has a mandatory biodiesel blending rate of just 0.05% but the industry is aiming to supply the 2% voluntary blending rate.
