Construction of Red River Biorefinery nearing completion

In North Dakota, the Grand Forks Herald newspaper reports that construction of the Red River Biorefinery that plans to produce ethanol from sugarbeet tailings and potato waste is nearing completion. With an eye on California and other markets with Low Carbon Fuel Standards that put a higher price tag on biofuels produced from waste feedstock, is set to produce 16 million gallons per year in addition to renewable natural gas. The company has set up feedstock supply contracts for 20 years.
