Egypt looks to convert 220,000 minibuses to biodiesel

December 10, 2019 |

In Egypt, Reuters reports that while the government is pushing drivers to convert passenger vehicles to dual-fuel systems that will integrate the use of LPG, further driving a policy that has been in place since the 1990s for taxis and minibuses but is receiving mixed reviews from private drivers, it is also seeking to increase the use of biodiesel in minibuses. More than 220,000 minibuses will be converted to or replaced with biofuel equivalents, and more than 350 fueling stations will be built to supply fuel to the new fleet.
