Indian cabinet green lights bioenergy MOU with Brazil

In India, All India Radio reports that the cabinet has given the green light to sign a memorandum of understanding with Brazil to further develop bioenergy. The Brazilian president is set to visit the country soon where ethanol will be among the main discussion points as well as how it can collaborate with India to boost ethanol production quickly, helping India to break its vicious cycle of overpaying cane farmers and bailing out sugar mills that can’t afford to pay high prices while producing too much sugar that must be exported on the global market.
