December 29, 2019 |

In Brazil, a joint venture between Patria, Shell, and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems is getting over 2 billion Brazilian Real, or nearly $500 million USD, from Brazil’s National Bank for Economic and Social Development, BNDES, that will be spread over 24 years, for a 565 MW natural gas thermoelectric power plant in the municipality of Macaé, in the north of the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The plant will add about 510 average MW to the National Interconnected System – enough to serve more than 2 million households. It is expected that its implementation will be completed by the end of 2022 and that during the project execution more than 4,000 direct and indirect jobs will be generated.
