Dirty UCO still a major problem in Pakistan despite attempts to divert it into biodiesel

In Pakistan, the Business Recorder newspaper reports that the government’s attempts to divert dirty used cooking oil from the food supply chain into biodiesel is running into challenges to create real change as demonstrated by another group of oil smugglers who were caught recently by police. Four vehicles containing nearly 25,000 liters of rancid oil mixed with oil extracted from animal fat that was headed towards Lahore from several parts of Punjab were caught and confiscated.
