Malaysia releases new fuel standards to help with B20 roll out

January 29, 2020 |

In Malaysia, Bernama news agency reports that the standards department has issued two new standards to support the fuel supply chain’s implementation of the 20% biodiesel blending mandate. Introduction of the standards are meant to also help boost consumer confidence in addition to helping fuel producers and fuel retailers alike, not to mention vehicle manufacturers and fuel distributors. Vehicle manufacturers, for example, have pushed back against biodiesel blends above 10%, not only in Malaysia but also in Indonesia who recently increased its blend to 30%.
