Paraguay approves free zone for ECB Group’s Omega Green project

In Paraguay, Biofuels International reports that the Paraguayan government has approved a free zone for the proposed Omega Green project, the southern hemisphere’s first renewable diesel and aviation biofuel facility that ECB Group plans to build for $800 million. With the free zone in place, the project that is of “national interest” is guaranteed a 30-year legal framework to ensure the project is bankable and reaches completion. The fuel produced at the proposed facility is intended for export to North America and Europe.
