In Indonesia, the Jakarta Post newspaper reports that the president’s ambitious plans to boost biodiesel blending to 40% by next year are seen by experts as probably too ambitious and will be very difficult to implement. They say that it will take more than a year for biodiesel producers to boost production and achieve the fuel standards required. The move to B30 that was implemented this year started as far back as 2014 which gave the industry enough time to upgrade and adapt but there isn’t enough time to switch to B40 successfully in time for 2021.
