ENGIE to supply Heathrow biomethane from AD until March 2022

In the UK, Bioenergy Insight reports that under a new agreement ENGIE will supply biomethane from anaerobic digestion across Heathrow Airport until March 2022, providing the fuel to all metered gas points in all terminals. The deal, which expands on an existing agreement between to the two companies, feeds into Heathrow’s push to quickly decarbonize in line with industry-wide decarbonization goals for 2050. The biomethane will be 100% derived from AD and will be certified under the UK’s Renewable Gas Guarantees of Origin Scheme.
