Trump Administration won’t appeal 10th Circuit Court SRE ruling

March 23, 2020 |

In Washington, Bloomberg reports that the White House doesn’t plan to appeal the January ruling by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals that pushed back against the Trump Administration’s policy that significantly increased the number of small refinery exemptions under the Renewable Fuel Standard. The administration had sought and received an additional two weeks to make a decision on whether or not to appeal the ruling. Instead, the Environmental Protection Agency is going to reform how it approves SREs to be in line with the court’s decision while some relief will be provided for refineries, though what that relief looks like hasn’t yet decided.
