F1 postpones E10 switch to 2022 due to coronavirus

In the UK, Motorsport.com reports that F1 has decided to delay its transition to E10 until 2022 from 2021, putting the blame on the coronavirus. Working together with Ferrari, Shell has determined that higher ethanol blends have a cooling effect on the engine, much like the effect an ethanol gel has when you put it on your hands, which is good for the engine’s performance overall. F1 has put a person full-time into looking at the impacts of E10 on vehicles as part of their sustainability drive.
