Ontario ethanol production seen falling but no shuttering of plants yet

In Canada, Real Agriculture reports that no ethanol plants in Ontario have shut down production on the back of reduced fuel demand driven by COVID-19 but ethanol production has pulled back sufficiently to weigh on corn prices. Farmers in Ontario are a month away from planting, so the sudden drop in demand poses an existential question similar to the one faced by farmers south of the border regarding how much corn should be planted this year.
