Ukraine to limit corn exports despite falling ethanol demand

April 27, 2020 |

In the Ukraine, Reuters reports that the government is thinking of limiting its corn exports to 29.3 million metric tons for the 2019/20 crop despite expected lower demand for ethanol production. Exports are also beginning to be hit as demand for imports falls. The country has already exported 25.2 million tons this season. Russia and Romania have already banned cereal exports in the face of COVID-19. Export corn prices fell last week to $172-176 FOB Black Sea from $178-183 during the middle of the week prior.
