FGV sees COVID-19 significantly impacting palm oil production this year

April 28, 2020 |

In Malaysia, the Star newspaper reports that FGV sees palm oil production dropping significantly due to impacts from COVID-19. The national movement control order has been in effect since March 18 which has kept farm workers from harvesting the oil palms. Customers and businesses have also been effected by the order which will have further impacts on FGV. The company hasn’t issued yet estimates of how much production is likely to fall this year against last year’s production that was 5.6% higher than the year prior.
