In Washington, Reuters reports that ethanol producers are being hit yet again, this time by the Trump Administration who has put a halt on some hand sanitizers. The Food and Drug Administration began putting restrictions on some hand sanitizer production on April 15 due to concerns over some of the ingredients but since then the agency has been forcing some ethanol plants to shut down their production due to similar concerns. One email exchange with the agency showed it found acetaldehyde in one ethanol plant’s hand sanitizers and shut further production down.
