In Brazil, Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) responded negatively to the proposal that had been circulated by entities representing the biodiesel sector to boost blending to 13% to reduce the impacts of Covid-19 along the entire supply chain.
The request had been submitted to the MME at the end of last month. According to the accounts of the Brazilian Biodiesel and Biokerosene Union (Ubrabio), if B13 were already adopted in the L73 – auction that will supply the market between July and August – the losses of the plants would fall by half. The measure would also have positive effects on the soy processing sector and the supply of bran in the domestic market.
