BA set to construct aviation biofuels plant this year

September 28, 2012 |

In the UK, British Airways environmental chief Jonanthon Counsell said that the company would shortly embark , by year end, to begin construction of its first waste-to-biofuels plant. The company signed a collaboration with Solena three years ago. “It’s been proven the will is there, the technology is now a commercial issue,” Counsell was quoted as saying. “The route we’re going down will be cost competitive with fossil fuel by 2015. And once we’ve proven the technology, we can look at building more plants across the UK.”
