A Day in the Life of Biofuels, 2011

In the summer and fall of 2011, Biofuels Digest readers snapped and shared photos of the world around them – the vibrant, transformational world of biofuels and bio-based materials.

Out of the entries received, the Digest selected a grand prize winner, 10 first prize winners, 50 second prize winners and 100 third prize winners.

The people you see in these linked pages are the foot-soldiers of the bio-based revolution, moving modern society off fossil fuels, rebuilding rural communities, restoring economic growth, and diversifying the energy and wealth mix wherever they go.

They are farmers, scientists, engineers, teachers, students, drivers, postal workers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and construction workers.

Since 2000, bio-based industries have created many thousands of good-paying jobs, while bringing economic revival and energy securities to their communities.
