In Iowa, Absolute Energy was forced to cut ethanol production by 20% earlier this year because it didn’t have storage capacity following poor rail service from BNSF and Canadian Pacific. Rail shipping this winter had been significantly impacted by heavy snow storms that later led to back ups throughout the system.
