Aboitiz Equity Ventures and Gazasia to build bio-methane facility to fuel vehicles

| February 20, 2013

In the Philippines, Aboitiz Equity Ventures and U.K.-based Gazasia have formed a joint venture to build a liquid bio-methane facility to fuel vehicles. An article in the Manila Standard quotes Juan Alfonso, Aseagas Director, as saying, “We’re looking at several sites. We like to do big projects. Roughly about $30 million per plant.” Alfonso noted that construction should start  sometime between Q2 and Q3 of 2013, somewhere in Luzon. Alfonso also stated, “Methane is not new in the Philippines. It is currently used in some waste-to-energy plants. Waste-to-fuel is a new approach to use methane.”
