Altia to install bio-mass electrical generating plant
In Finland, Altia will be building a 10MWe bioenergy plant at their Koskenkorva facility. An article on just-drinks.com quotes Antti Snellman, plant director, as explaining, “This power plant will secure competitive steam supply for the Koskenkorva plant, thanks to high fuel self-sufficiency and the versatile selection of fuels… The investment will enables us to increase our production capacity.” The boiler is expected to cost €15 million, and completed and commissioned towards the end of next. The facility produces Koskenkorva fodka, grain spirits for Altia’s other brands, feed and starch.
