Farms.com reports that a 2 percent mandate for biodiesel that will be implemented in January 2008 promises to dramatically increase Brazilian biodiesel production. The mandate is expected to rise to 5 percent no later than 2013. Brazilian biodiesel production has lagged far behind US and European output, despite Brazil’s celebrated success in ethanol production.
