108 million gallon per year ethanol plant gets green light from city planners in Virginia

Chesapeake Bay-area city planners have recommended approval of a 108 million gallon ethanol plant, instead of the 216 Mgy facility proposed by project promoters International Bio Energy Virginia. The original proposal called for initial production of 108 Mgy, the the porject promoters say they need full pre-approval to expand to 216 Mgy to secure financing. The city appears to be heading toward conditional permitting.
