Blue Sun Biodiesel has proposed a $42 million, four-year jatropha-based biodiesel and synthetic diesel project to the US Department of Energy (DOE). The DOE issued a $200 million RFP for proposals to demonstrate commercial viability of an integrated biofuels plant using cellulosic feedstock. Blue Sun is partnered with Global Clean Energy Holdings, Community Power Corporation, and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory of Golden, Colorado on the project proposal.
