Missouri livestock farmers are welcoming the increase in soy biodiesel for the potential of lowering feed prices, according to a report. Thirty pounds of soybean meal are produced from the crush required to produce one gallon of biodiesel.
The increase in soybean production thereby is expected to help drive down feedstock costs. Total Missouri biodiesel production of 150 million gallons per year by 2009 will add more than 2000 tons of soybean meal and feed.
