American Biofuels Council to conduct Certified Biofuels Educator (CBE) exams in Miami, Oct 20-21
The American Biofuels Council, which awards the Certified Biofuels Educator status, will conduct workshops and examinations in Miami, FL on October 20-21. 30 candidates are expected to attempt the examination after completing home studies and two days of in-class workshops.
Candidates are trained first with the ABC’s home study manual, which covers all major biofuel types and feedstocks including economic, agricultural, environmental and fuel performance aspects.
The heart of the course is in-class instruction, which covers the comparative features and benefits of fuels and feedstocks. The course offers training in biofuels transition planning, plus training on making presentations to government, enterprises, schools or civic groups. The course also prepares CBEs to answer common questions about biofuels and their usage.

The Council aims to have more than 500 CBEs certified in 2007-08 representing all major US metropolitan areas. More information is available at the Council website.
