In Ohio, a Darke County ethanol plant has received $3 million in funding from the Ohio Coal Development Office grant for up to $3 million for a geologic evaluation of the ethanol plant site, and installation of carbon dioxide transportation, compression and injection systems.
Last week, the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority has approved issue of $55 million in bonds to assist in financing a 110 Mgy Darke County ethanol plant that will be operated by The Andersons (ANDE). The plant will also produce 350,000 tons of distillers grains, used for livestock feed.
Last month, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency issued two permits for the proposed POET ethanol plant just west of Marion. The plant is projected to produce 69 million gallons per year of corn ethanol. The project was formerly known as Marion Ethanol.
