South Dakota State University receives $26 million from DOE to coordinate biomass outreach, education, research across six Sun Grant Centers
South Dakota State University will receive $26 million from the US Department of Energy for biofuels research. The North Central Sun Grant Center will coordinate the program. The program covers biofuels education, outreach, feedstock assessment and feedstock development. The North Central Sun Grant Center will coordinate the efforts across all of the six Sun Grant Centers nationwide.
Sun Grant Centers include South Dakota State, Oregon State, Cornell, Oklahoma State and the University of Tennessee, and develop research, higher education, and extension programs on renewable energy.
