Green Fuel says will construct 31 Mgy biodiesel, 17 Mgy ethanol plant in Bulgaria
In Bulgaria, Green Fuel announced a new plant that will produce 31 Mgy of biodiesel and 17 Mgy of ethanol. The $70 million project will be constructed in the Pleven region, and will produce 50 percent of Bulgaria’s total biodiesel output.
Earlier this month, Israeli billionaire Arcadi Gaydamak and his Petro Group are reportedly began talks to acquire a biodiesel plant in Bulgaria in a $21 million deal. Gaydamak bought Petro Group last June as part of a flurry of acquisitions in Israel. Petro Group owns gas stations and convenience stores in Europe and the US. In August, Verbio Vereinigte BioEnergie said they expected to invest up to 100 million euros in Bulgarian biodiesel and ethanol production.
