Standard Ethanol Madrid, a unit of Mid America Bio Energy and Commodities, commenced production Monday at its Nebraska plant.
Nebraska has remained on track with several major plants despite closures and delays elsewhere. Construction is underway on a 226 Mgy ethanol plant in Aurora. The Aurora Co-Op project with Aventine Renewables has a price tag of $300 million. Also, the Abengoa cellulosic ethanol pilot project in York has recently commenced production.
