Kansas green-lights 124 Mgy Dial Energy ethanol plant

Kansas Department of Health and Environment Secretary Rod Bremby approved construction of Dial Energy’s 124 Mgy corn ethanol plant in Dodge City.

Kansas ethanol development has slowed. Sunflower Electric Power and Scoular officially ended their partnership in September to construct a 100 Mgy ethanol facility at the Sunflower Integrated Bioenergy Center in Holcomb. A new 100 Mgy ethanol plant was announced for Rosalie, KS in August. The plant will also produce 320,000 tons of distillers grain annually.

Kansas ranks sixth among US states in ethanol production, with 657 million gallons of production capacity, or 5% of total US capacity.
