USDA drops Minnesota corn forecast to 1.185 billion bushels; still 2nd highest in history

The U.S. Department of Agriculture reduced its forecast for the Minnesota corn crop to 1.185 billion bushels, owing to wind damage. The projected crop, after the adjustment, will be the second-highest in state history.

U.S. Department of Agriculture is projecting a 13.3 billion bushel corn harvest, up 27% over last year. The USDA is projecting overall national corn yields in the high 140s.

Projections for Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska are for production totals of 2.54 billion bushels, 2.34 billion and 1.51 billion respectively.
