Allegro Biodiesel makes $500K bridge loan to Colorado’s Community Power Corp; first step towards acquisition

Allegro Biodiesel announced a $500,000 bridge loan to Colorado’s Community Power Corporation. CPC’s gasification system has processed more than 30 feedstocks for generation of power, heat and synthetic fuels. Allied said that it may acquire CPC, which has received more than $12 million in state and federal research and has constructed more than 24 biopower units used in demonstration of the technology.

Colorado continues to be a national center for biofuels research and development. The National Renewable Eenrgy Laboratory is based on Golden, and the The Colorado Center for Biorefining and Biofuels is also active in grant-making. The CCBB is a joint venture of the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado State University, the Colorado School of Mines and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and 27 energy-industry companies.
