DuPont’s Pioneer Hi-Bred debuts QualiTrak to provide per-load feedback on ethanol yields from corn

In Iowa, DuPont division Pioneer Hi-Bred today introduced QualiTrak, a new measurement system that predicts ethanol yield on individual loads of corn delivered to plants. The reports generated by the system, when shared with farmers, will allow for the selection of higher-yield hybrids. The company did not disclose a projected improvement in yield from implementation of the system.

Last month, DuPont unveiled a three-stage biofuels strategy, including: improving the yield of grain ethanol production; developing cellulosic ethanol technologies; and its butanol partnership with BP.
DuPont ethanol biofuels leader Russ Sanders addressed a Citigroup ethanol conference where a bullish ethanol forecast for 2008 was unveiled by Citigroup analysts.
