In Canada, a 15 Mgy wheat ethanol plant expects to improve its viability through the superior quality of its distillers grains. The Terra Grain Fuels plant at Belle Plaine in Saskatchewan says that 90 percent of its feedstock will come from the AC Andrew wheat variety that offers superior levels of protein, lysine and trace mineral. Terra Grain Fuels said its grain distillate is well suited for milk production, and expects to sell 98 percent of the ethanol by-product outside the province, including the US and Asia.
