Ohio 20 Mgy biodiesel plant to commence production by January
In Ohio, TPA expects its 20 Mgy Warren biodiesel plant to come on line by January.
Ohio has been putting more effort into biofuel development but primarily to date on the ethanol side. Last month, the Ohio Air Quality Development Authority has approved issue of $55 million in bonds to assist in financing a 110 Mgy Darke County ethanol plant that will be operated by The Andersons (ANDE). The plant will also produce 350,000 tons of distillers grains, used for livestock feed.
Previously, the Ohio state Environmental Protection Agency issued two permits for the proposed POET ethanol plant just west of Marion. The plant is projected to produce 69 million gallons per year of corn ethanol. The project was formerly known as Marion Ethanol.
