Atlantic Biomass Conversions aims to supply methanol to military as jet fuel

In Maryland, Atlantic Biomass Conversions is producing methanol from biomass and hopes to supply it to the military as JP-8 jet fuel. The company extracts methanol from sugar beet waste after the completion of sugar extraction.

Sugar beet plants have recently opened in Colombia, India and England.

The first test of biofuels in a military aircraft in a transcontinental  flight  will be next month when Green Flight International’s has BioJet, a retired Czech L-29 military aircraft will fly from an undisclosed location in California to Florida.
