In Australia, Dalriada Meat has received $100,000 from the South Australian government for its proposed $5.8 million tallow-based biodiesel plant in Keith.
The tallow-based biodiesel industry has had a rough year.
Earlier this month, the last biodiesel plants in operation in Australia closed down due to excessive feedstock costs and low biodiesel prices. The Australian Renewable Fuels tallow-based biodiesel plants in Bunbury and Adelaide were the last biodiesel facilities in the country, according to the company’s owners.
