In Nebraska, Panda Energy canceled a 100 Mgy ethanol plant that was scheduled for construction near Wallace and RAE canceled a $120 million project in Gothenburg.
Panda had previously announced plans to build five 100 Mgy plants, while RAE had planned to construct three. Gothenburg is actively seeking a company to replace the RAE project.
Meanwhile, Panda did not make any announcement concerning construction delays at other plants, including its proposed Texas facilities. Last month, the company received the air quality permit for its 115 Mgy ethanol plant in Muleshoe. The plant will utilize up to 500,000 tons of cattle manure per year to generate biogas that will be used for steam generation.
