Biofuels Digest Indexâ„¢ gains 1.27 percent to reach 52-week high; Energy Bill euphoria carries over through the weekend

The Biofuels Digest Indexâ„¢, a basket of public biofuels stocks, rose 1.27 percent yesterday to reach a 52-week high of 115.76. Losers led gainers 3 to 2 on the day, but strong performances by Archer-Daniels-Midland (ADM) and Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) drove the Index up for 11th out of the past 15 sessions.

ADM was up 1.74 percent to $39.75, while PEIX rose 7.10 percent to $7.09. Pacific Ethanol announced a new CFO yesterday.

Among other stocks, Nova Biosource (NBF) lost 10.70 percent to close at $1.92, while MGP Ingredients lost 6.44 percent to finish the day at $8.13.
