Japan ups biofuel target to 132 Mgy in 2011; using ETBE as substitute for ethanol

In Japan, the oil industry has agreed to increase its 2011 biofuel blending target from 55 Mgy to 132 Mgy. Industry leaders said that they would blend ETBE, which is a compound formed from ethanol and isobutane.
