Biofuels Digest Index falls 0.15 percent as agribusiness slips, VeraSun Energy soars post-merger

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, fell 0.15 percent to close at 116.01 on gains in agribusiness and ethanol stocks.  Sector giant Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) fell 0.36 percent to close at $41.77.

Among ethanol stocks, VeraSun Energy (VSE) gained 9.66 percent to $7.95 on the first full day of trading after  its merger with US BioEnergy (USBE). Among small caps, Xethanol (XNL) gained 8.11 percent to close at $0.40.  Overall, advances led declines 4 to 3.
