Biofuels Digest Index up 2.95 percent on Archer Daniels Midland and VeraSun Energy jumps

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, jumped 2.95 percent to close at 118.02 led by ADM and VSE.  Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) gained 3.13 percent to close at $42.53, while VeraSun Energy (VSE) led ethanol stocks with a gain of 5.12 percent to close at $8.42.  A

mong small caps, Green Plains Renewable Energy (GPRE) rose 11.41 percent to $10.25 in the wake of its merger with Great Lakes Cooperative.  Overall, declines led advances 3 to 2.
