Biofuels Digest Index gains 1.92 percent on spectacular ethanol jump
The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, gained percent Friday to close at 122.39, as agribusiness halted a three-day slide and ethanol stocks leaped on increased quarterly earnings from Aventine Renewable Energy (AVR). For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) rose 1.74 percent to close at $43.94, while Aventine skyrocketed 26.28 percent to $5.34 to lead the ethanol recovery. Among small caps, Green Energy Resources (GRGR.PK) fell 21.88 percent to finish at $0.125.  Overall, advances and declines were even for the day.
