In Malaysia, Platinum Energy said that it will complete its 55 Mgy biodiesel facility in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan by July. The $19 million project will use jatropha grown in South Sulawesi and Banten as feedstock, and the company said it will subsequently add-on a biomass-to-liquid conversion capability using Catalytic Depolymerisation Technology (KDV technology). The pilot KDV plant will also launch in July, and uses rice husks, fruit waste and palm oil shells to produce a biomass-based synthetic diesel fuel it calls “green diesel”.
