Biofuels Digest Index falls 0.81 percent to 121.75 on ethanol profit taking

The Biofuels Digest Indexâ„¢ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, fell 0.81 percent yesterday to close at 121.75 on profit taking in ethanol. For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) fell 0.59 percent to close at $43.70, while Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) fell back 2.12 percent to $5.53 after two strong days of advances on sharply improved quarterly earnings.

Among small caps, Xethanol (XNL) fell back 25.33 percent to $0.56 after strong gains earlier in the week. Overall, declines led advances 5 to 4 for the day.
