In the Philippines, a farmers group has launched a pilot malunggay nursery near Naga City. The plant produces moringa oil as edible oil and for biodiesel. The KFCS farmers group was created last year in order to contract with Secura International, an oils broker that announced that it would sign off-take contracts for production from as much as 500,000 hectares. The oil would be shipped to US biodiesel producers.
Secura International said that it is cultivating malunggay for US clients such as North American Biodiesel.
